The National Police Officers Association of America,
Inc, a non-profit corporation, was founded in 1955 for the purpose of:
--Establishing better understanding
and community relations between the law enforcement profession and the community-at-large;
--Recognizing and saluting the heroic and commendable efforts of law enforcement officers, security professionals
and citizens acting to protect, serve and maintain the highest degree of law and order worldwide;
--Supporting the efforts of law enforcement agencies in promoting public safety;
--Instilling a greater degree respect throughout our society for the law enforcement profession; and
--Assisting and participating
in community law enforcement programs fostering strong and positive community relations and interest in crime prevention,
public safety, and law and order.
The National Police Officers Association of America, Inc. (NPOAA) is managed by an elected Board of Directors, who are non-salaried, and with a volunteer
Executive Director and staff providing member services from its National Headquarters in New Jersey.
The NPOAA is an association comprised of both law enforcement and security
professionals and concerned citizens who advocate professional standards of the highest degree for law enforcement in creating
a safe society for all citizens.
It is an all-volunteer, non-salaried Membership Team that makes a difference!
On October 1, 2003, The NPOAA was recently expanded and its name amended to reflect its membership
inclusion of not only sworn members of law enforcement, but also security professionals on all levels, humane officers, and
those who may not seek to become members of other allied organizations.
Longtime members of the NPOAA or new members of the NPSOAA may opt to refer to their
membership affiliation or themselves as members of either the National Police Officers Association of America
or the National Police and Security Officers Association of America, or both.
Regardless of your individual or respective designation or affiliation option, your longtime affiliation,
dedication and support will neither be forgotyten, overlooked or compromised.
For the purpose of record-keeping, accounting and identification, you will receive a memberhip code which will be
the same whether you choose to be known and recognized as a member of the National Police Officers Association of
America or the National Police and Security Officers Association of America, or both.
As we continue to update our records and attempt to recover the historical member information
from the early version of PC Windows from the NPOAA computers, we would appreciate it greatly if you would kindly send us
an Email and tell us the approximate date you first joined the original NPOAA, which was established in 1955.
The new cooperative National Police Officers Association of America
